Campgrounds
Unlike
the vast majority of campgrounds – the designers had, from
the beginning a vision – A design that would join comfort
with nature and the natural beauty of the area they selected
for their campground. One sees in a half mile or so of a road
into a deep wood, composed mainly of thick pines and maples,
the possibility of bike trails, walking trails of varying
difficulty, and a natural experience bounded by Canadian geese
honking and caroling at a nearby pond. And whitetail deer
spooked by your presence as you walk, however quietly. At
night billions of stars and the northern lights sparkle overhead.
An occasional bird flits here and there.
In the morning one alights from tent or trailer onto a soft
bed of chipped wood to a clear dawn, fresh air and sunlight
filtering through the trees. Mornings are crisp, 50 degrees
or so, for the temperature falls rapidly at night. Neighbors
are clustered nearby – but not so close to disturb your privacy.
Clean air, bright and clean bathrooms, everything done in
taste. Planned for you as though for them – for they are campers
too!

Hartwick Highlands Campground,
Just a short note to say
thanks. When you put out the welcome mat every
day, you leave nothing left behind. From the help
on the initial call to make a reservation to the
heartfelt waves when leaving, this campground is top
notch. Apparently, the letter "H" isn't only the
first letter in the campground's name, it stands for the
unprecedented "HOSPITALITY" that they offer. From
the help getting in a campsite LONG after dark to the
assistance with all the local attractions, these folks
do it all and then some. The only negative that I
have is that I only had a long weekend to spend here.
This is probably one of the nicest campgrounds that my
family and I have ever been to. But as Arnold said
in the movies, "I'll be back". And as for Jennifer
in the office, if there is a national campground
association and they are ever in need of an ambassador,
you've got my vote!!!!! Again, thanks for all the
help and hospitality (there's those "H's" again).

wonderful experience at Hartwick Highlands Campground!
Your facilities were outstanding! Our cabin was
neat, clean and most of all comfortable and DRY!
Even though we had a rain soaked weekend, the girls
thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The Arcade was a
life saver. We look forward to returning next

let you know that Mary Ann and I had a wonderful
stay at your facility over the July 4th weekend.
We are looking forward to returning. It's
refreshing to meet people with a sense of humor.

Joe and I have been to many campgrounds over the
years and yours is the best. You went out
of your way to help us. You made it clear
you care...As Joe said we will be back.

| I just wanted to
let you know what a wonderful time we had this
weekend. We booked our trip on VERY short
notice (we called Thursday morning for an
arrival of Thursday evening!). Jennifer
was wonderful and arranged for us to have a full
hookup site for three nights, going out of her
way to be sure that we didn't need to change
sites partway through our stay. We arrived
after dark and were led from the office, which
was re-opened solely for our arrival, to our
sight. Since the site was very large and
level, we were able to set up quickly. We
found the campground to be very clean, the
people extremely friendly and helpful and the
scenery beautiful. I will be sure to
recommend you to anyone heading that way.

Highlands Thank
you for a wonderful weekend in Cooperstown.
Our trip was decided on a whim and we stumbled
across your site in the planning. Neither of
us have been camping in years and this was our first
trip since we got married. From the moment we
got there, walked in the office and were greeted by
Roscoe (the dog...that's his name?) I knew we were
in the right place. Our campsite was perfect.
Right across from the water, quiet, and just close
enough to everything. I was amazed at how
friendly your family and staff is, every time
someone drove by the campsite we received a smile
and a wave...every time! Thank you again and I
know we will be back someday and bring our families.
When our puppy grows up and learns to be a big dog
he'll come too!

and I just HAD to tell you from the bottom of my
heart THANK YOU! Our stay was better than I
had hoped for and more convenient than I expected.
Being the #1 seed on championship day was even more
special because of the closeness the families
experienced @ dinner and afterwards each night!
The cabins are
AWESOME and you've thought of everyone at your
facility! I can't wait to brag about our stay
when I get home and NO DOUBT will spread the good
word to all Cooperstown eligible families!

| Dear Hartwick Highlands
Family (Rozella's & Czadzeck's,
We have been traveling to
Cooperstown for over twenty years (once a year); most
often for the Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.
During our many excursions, we have found our experience
with HHCG a consistent bright subject in our discussions
on our way back home. Each year, when we arrive,
we are greeted with warm smiles and a recognition that
makes us feel welcome and comfortable. We have
witnessed the structural growth of the site first-hand,
as we've been patrons since your very first year.
It has been impressive to see a family with such vision
and determination focus on a common project. We
are big fans!
Having been in customer
service positions ourselves, we are quick to critique
our experiences and make decisions about where we will
spend our money and time in the future. You've
made one of those decisions very easy. We will
return to HHCG yearly, for as many years as you'll have
us. Thank you for your professionalism,
courteousness, and warm welcomes.
We'll see you next year!

Dear Rozella Family,
You made us feel like a part of your family from the
first phone call I had with Jennifer to Ann's warm smile
that welcomed us after a horrible drive from MI, to
Vin's golf cart rides to the bathroom so our baseball
team's Moms didn't have to walk in the rain. There
is no way to convey in a pamphlet or on a website what
wonderful, welcoming people you all are.
We camped with you in July. My son was playing at the Dreams Park.
He and my husband stayed in the barracks which left me
camping with 4 children! But at no point did I
feel alone. One of your family members was always
around cleaning or checking on things and willing to
help me. Every night when I left the fields we
came back "home" to the camper where I felt very safe
and secure.
Your hard work is
noticeable everywhere you look on the grounds. The
campsite is remarkably clean, especially the bathrooms!
The sites are well built. We were level on the
first try. Our baseball family enjoyed an evening
picnic at the pavilion. It is also clean and well
thought out, with sliding barn doors to accommodate the
weather, fire pit, horse shoes.
You have built a unique
place in which your love for the campground can be seen.
Often people run a business for a profit. You do
it because you truly care and want people to feel at
home! Hartwick Highlands is a true success.

so much for getting us in spot C10 on such short notice
this weekend. We were really in a bind and you
came through for us. We're veteran campers, and
have seen a ton of parks, but none compare to the
quality of yours! It was clean, peaceful, quiet,
pet friendly, and incredibly enjoyable.

I wanted to
just drop you a quick line and let you know that my
brother and I recently had the opportunity to bring our
rigs in and camp at your facility over Memorial weekend.
You folks have one of the nicest campgrounds that we
have ever stayed in. While we travel around the
northeast and have stayed at many grounds I rank you
guys at one of the best, the personnel were friendly,
the campground immaculate and well kept, and very
peaceful, and we didn't feel worried about letting our
daughters walk around, something some of us look for in
camping. We will definitely be back to see you
again. Keep up the great work. I'm spreading
the word to some of our fellow RV friends and you should
be seeing them soon also.

yesterday behind the most AWESOME caravan of huge
recreational vehicles, all pulling cars. It
was really cool to see them, for as far as the eye
could see, traveling north to your campground.

Hi Guys,
I don't know where to begin to say how much we enjoyed
our stay at your campground this summer. We hated
to leave. We can't wait till next year to come
back again. Your park is beautiful due to all the
hard work you guys do; it really shows. Jennifer,
Ann, you are so very helpful and friendly that you
really do feel like you are staying at a friend's
campsite. David and Vin you guys work very hard to
keep the grounds looking beautiful. And of course,
we cannot forget the official greeters at the
office: Rocky & Sheena. And David, Jr.
was a hoot on his tractor looking like a pro! My
husband especially didn't want to leave and would stay
from May - October if he could.
You have a really nice
place and are doing a terrific job. We had a
really nice stay and will be counting the days till we
see you again. Take care, keep up the
good work. Thanks again for making our stay a
pleasant one.

The Rozella Family,
On behalf of myself and my family I would like to
say THANK-YOU. My family just got home a few
days ago from spending a week at your Campground
while our son played at Dreams Park between Aug. 19
to 26. I don't know where to start. We
are not usually campers (first time with the
Children). We had a wonderful time camping.
We were impressed with your facilities on how clean
they were kept. Your family works so hard day
and night. And the hospitality during our stay
was very warming. And little David was so
friendly being the welcome committee and always
willing to help. He was a joy all week. I
can't complain about anything about our stay with
you. Also, there were 2 other families that
stayed at your campground and we all enjoyed
ourselves. If we are ever back in the area we
won't hesitate returning to your campground.
But maybe next time we will rent a cabin.
Again Thank-you so much for making our week with you
comfortable and memorable. We will not
hesitate recommending your campground to our team
coming to Dreams Park next year.
